There are many factors to consider when weighing the merits of one tournament site vs. another. We believe that one of those factors is transparency, and that’s why we require that players use real names when they sign up for an account and enter one of our tourneys.
Sometimes you can be so “on” you don’t even need to make all your plays to win a big tourney.
Here’s a look at HorseTourneys qualifiers who finished in the top 66 at last weekend’s National Handicapping Championship.
It appears to be a down weekend coming up in the NFL with only one game scheduled. So we thought we’d try to fill the void with several exciting tournaments where you can win cash, a seat to the coveted The BIG One and more.
I can’t say enough about Ray Arsenault’s performance. (His $407.70 final total was an NHC record.) When the final table participants were determined, the standings were very tight, with one exception—Ray Arsenault had a nice $30 or so lead on his nearest pursuer.
We went a little easy on the contest schedule this weekend because we know that a whole bunch of you are out in Las Vegas playing for $800,000. But I’ll say this—what we did schedule this weekend is really good. And even if you ARE fortunate enough to be out at Treasure Island right now, you’ll want to get in on these tourneys. To make things a little easier for you, we’ve structured our top Friday/Saturday events so that they utilize the NHC mandatory races (eight each day). So, heck, a lot of you will have already “done the work” anyway!

It doesn’t always take great scores to put you at the top of the class.
Whenever you hear “Hail to the Chief” this weekend, just think “HorseTourneys”. Because when it comes to fun and big-money contests and qualifiers, we like to think we are the Chief Executive. It should come as no surprise that we’ll be in action all weekend long. Bigly. We are suspending our belief in separation of church and state this weekend, however. Most of our featured tournaments will be Pick & Prays.
Last week, in part I, I went over what constitutes an ideal NHC mandatory race, as well as some of the other factors we consider as part of the process. I’m surprised it until Part II to get to it…but one gigantic factor in our thinking is weather – both with respect to whether a race might come off the turf and whether a given track might cancel altogether due to a snowstorm.
