In most cases, entries for a given day’s races are taken three days prior to race day (e.g. Wednesday for Saturday, Thursday for Sunday, etc.). So how come HorseTourneys rules state that players typically are not able to make their contest selections—or gain access to the free Brisnet past performances available—until roughly 24 hours before the start of a tourney?
It has become almost commonplace during a Pick & Pray weekend to see a player win multiple tournaments or prizes on a single day by entering a set of selections in more than one competition.
With this past weekend offering almost exclusively live-format tourneys, however, multiple wins by one player seemed to us like a far less likely proposition.
We were wrong.
It’s a big weekend coming up with the vast majority of our featured tourneys running in Live format. We’ll have the usual robust assortment of guaranteed cash games (including one for $25,000) and qualifiers for such events as the NHC, The BIG One, the Keeneland Grade I Gamble and many more. But we have a couple of new players joining the weekend lineup as well.

One of the most tempting aspects of Pick & Pray tourneys is the option to enter your same set of picks in a host of different competitions on a given day, and to win more than one event if it happens to be your day. Such a potential reward does not come without financial risk, however. But Anthony Acierno was clearly thinking aggressively this past weekend.

It’s hard to imagine cramming more into a single weekend. Good thing Monday is a holiday so we can spread things out a bit.
