William Roth has Incredible Day; Wins Six Sunday Tourneys Plus NHC Seat (Weekend Recap March 17-19)

Our featured tourneys awarded 39 seats to important on-site competitions and $46,000 in cash last weekend. Much of that was offered on Sunday when we hosted 10 featured events, including no fewer than eight qualifiers. With such a full schedule, it presented an opportunity for someone with good opinions to have a truly memorable day. On Sunday, that someone was William Roth.

Not One But Two NHC Qualifiers This Weekend; Plus $25K, The BIG One, HPWS Blowout, Del Mar, Surfside, More

 

This weekend—a predominantly live-format weekend—has a little bit of everything: Another cash game with increased purses, a blowout mega qualifier, a first chance to qualify at one place, a last chance to qualify at another place…

What it has a whole lot of is NHC seats—as many as eight—spread out over two tournaments, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. These NHC qualifiers make up two of 16 (!) featured events this weekend.

Why Can’t Players Get Free PPs or Make Tourney Selections Sooner?

In most cases, entries for a given day’s races are taken three days prior to race day (e.g. Wednesday for Saturday, Thursday for Sunday, etc.). So how come HorseTourneys rules state that players typically are not able to make their contest selections—or gain access to the free Brisnet past performances available—until roughly 24 hours before the start of a tourney?

Draper, Lam, Chute and Arrison Each Win a Pair (Weekend Recap March 4-5)

 

It has become almost commonplace during a Pick & Pray weekend to see a player win multiple tournaments or prizes on a single day by entering a set of selections in more than one competition.

With this past weekend offering almost exclusively live-format tourneys, however, multiple wins by one player seemed to us like a far less likely proposition.
