Del Mar Handicapping Challenge Qualifiers Start Feb. 2

HorseTourneys will begin offering qualifiers to the 2014 Del Mar Handicapping Challenge, to be held July 26-27 at Del Mar outside of San Diego.

The Del Mar Handicapping Challenge is a mega live-bankroll contest that carries an entry fee of $6,000 (representing a player’s bankroll).  In addition to cash prizes, qualifying seats to both the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge and Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship are offered through this contest.

Qualifiers begin at HorseTourneys on Sunday, Feb. 2.  While qualifying parameters may change, the initial qualifier will carry an entry fee of $240 and will offer one qualifying package to the Del Mar Handicapping Challenge per 38 entries participating.  The package will include the $6,000 entry fee/bankroll to the event PLUS $1,000 in travel reimbursement that will be provided to the player upon arriving at Del Mar.  Site credit prizes will be awarded to 2nd thru 4th place finishers in these main qualifiers.

Daily direct feeders will be run into each main Del Mar qualifier.  Those daily direct feeders will carry entry fees of $53 and award one $240 entry per 5 entries participating.

First Qualifier to NHC Last Chance Contest Held This Sunday, Dec. 15

On Thursday, January 23, the NTRA and Treasure Island will host the NHC Last Chance Qualifier, which is the FINAL opportunity for players to qualify to the NHC, which begins the next day on Friday, January 24.

Players may earn the $500 entry to the NHC Last Chance Contest for a fraction of the cost at HorseTourneys.  The first qualifier is this Sunday, Dec. 15.

– Earn the $500 Entry to the Jan. 23 NHC Last Chance Contest
– $24/entry, one (1) $500 Last Chance Entry per 25 Entries Participating (PICK & PRAY Format)
– Players may earn up to FOUR (4) entries into the NHC Last Chance Qualifier

Qualifiers will run until approximately one week prior to the event.  Entry fees and qualifying parameters may vary.

Synowiecki Turns Hawthorne Qualifying Entry into NHC Package

HorseTourneys qualifier Edwin Synowiecki turned an entry into the Hawthorne NHC Super Qualifier, which he earned in only a $52 qualifier, into a full NHC package in this past weekend’s event at Hawthorne Race Course outside of Chicago.  Synowiecki, from Chicago, won another $1,000 in cash as well as keeping nearly $1,500 earned through bankroll wagering.

DIRECT Feeders to Horse Player World Series (HPWS) Weekend Qualifiers Now Held Daily

From now through the Horse Player World Series in March, HorseTourneys will run daily, low-cost feeder contests that will feed into the main HPWS qualifiers held every weekend. We’ll host a main HPWS “ENTRY ONLY” qualifier every Saturday, and a main HPWS “FULL PACKAGE” qualifier every Sunday.

-HPWS Entry-Only Feeders: $19 to Win $50 entry to Saturday qualifier, 1 per 3 entries awarded

-HPWS FULL PACKAGE Feeders: $26 to Win $96 entry to Sunday qualifier, 1 per 4 entries awarded

The main HPWS qualifiers on each weekend date will rotate between the REGULAR and PICK & PRAY selections formats. I.e., one weekend, both qualifiers will run under the REGULAR format, while the next weekend, both will run under the PICK & PRAY format. This gives players a chance to play in both formats on a regular basis.

Please note that ALL HPWS Feeder events will run under the PICK & PRAY format.

Entry-Only HPWS qualifiers may be offered on other dates in addition to the weekly Saturday qualifier.

Direct Feeders Now Offered to Hawthorne’s NHC Super Qualifier

Starting this week, we’ve begun offering DIRECT feeders to qualifying contests that award entries or packages to the Hawthorne NHC Super Qualifier, to be held Nov. 31-Dec. 1 at Hawthorne Race Course outside of Chicago.  Direct feeders to the qualifying events, which will be held on one weekend date, will be offered most days HorseTourneys runs contests.

The Hawthorne NHC Super Qualifier will award EIGHT (8) NHC spots and is a live bankroll contest ($600 bankroll).  It is one of the best late season on-track qualifying opportunities on the NHC Tour schedule.

Did You Know? Cancellation Option Available Until 2 Hours Prior to Contests

It’s inevitable – we all have something come up that may prevent us from playing a contest in a given day.  The dog might have eaten our PPs, or maybe we just don’t feel up to the task.  Fortunately, at HorseTourneys, players have the option of cancelling entries up to two (2) hours prior to the start of a contest.

The cancel option is found on the “Purchase Entries” page, at the bottom where your purchased entries are displayed.  Cancel links are provided for each contest to which you have purchased entries.  You may cancel any entry up until two hours prior to the start time of an event.

There is a 10 percent cancel fee applied to a cancelled entry (so for instance, if a contest cost $50, you would receive $45 back to your account).  This is necessary to prevent abuse of the cancel privilege and manipulation of contest entries.  However, if you have to cancel, send us an email at support@horsetourneys.com explaining the reason why and we’ll give you every consideration for a refund of that cancel fee.
