The year ends with a bang on Saturday as HorseTourneys hosts a 15-race, $50,000 Guaranteed event on New Year’s Eve. But it’s just one tourney amid many excellent ones this weekend. Let’s begin our look with Friday’s action.

Bill Shurman Doubles Up and Then Some (Weekend Recap, Dec. 23-26)
I’ve seen players enter the same set of picks in two different tourneys and win both contests, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen what Bill Shurman did last Friday.
Another Big Weekend Ahead – Just on Different Days
With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day falling on the weekend this year, we’ve re-jiggered our normal schedule to still give you a weekend’s worth of exciting action – but on Friday and Monday, instead of Saturday and Sunday. And, other than Exacta Box and Survivor games, almost everything will be run in Pick & Pray format so you don’t need to be chained to your computer to play.
Feeders, Direct Qualifiers Now Available for The BIG One, Wynn & Del Mar Challenges and Kentucky Derby Betting Challenge
Shortly after the turn of the year, HorseTourneys will be starting direct qualifiers for four of the biggest brick-and-mortar tournaments of 2017. They are:
Low Scores Mean Big Returns for Chute – Again (Weekend Recap, Dec. 17-18)
If George Chute were an NBA player, he’d probably be one of those (increasingly rare) guys with a very good mid-range jumper.
Last Chance to Qualify for Surfside Among This Weekend’s Highlights
Your last chance to qualify for the December 30-January 1 Surfside Tournaments is this Sunday. For a $98 entry fee, one winner in 20 will receive Surfside entry fees for all three days ($1,180 value) plus $500 for travel. That’s just one of many exciting tourneys on tap for this weekend. Let’s start with Friday.
This Wednesday, We’re Erring on the Side of Warmth
Recently, we began offering an enhanced Wednesday late afternoon/evening (depending on your time zone) schedule, including a $2,500 Guaranteed tourney. These have been well received thus far, but this week we have a bit of a problem – the weather.
Cochran and Roth Put in Memorable Performances (Weekend Recap Dec. 10-11)
Great contest performances can occur anyplace, anytime. What I believe to be one of the year’s best came from Tara Cochran in our $7,500 Guaranteed tourney on Sunday.
New Sat. Night $1,000 Cash Game, Additional NHC Last Chance Qualifier Among Weekend Highlights
There are several new additions to the upcoming weekend’s lineup. Let’s take a look in chronological order, starting with Friday.
We will again host a $5,000 Guaranteed game with $2,500 to the winner and prizes down to fourth. Entry is $185. Contest races will be the 7th through 10th at Aqueduct; the 8th and 9th at Tampa and the 5th through 8th at Fair Grounds – 10 races in all.
Weekend Recap (Dec. 2-4)
It was an exciting three days here at HorseTourneys with some closing weekend stakes at Del Mar helping to decide a number of the featured competitions on Saturday and Sunday.
Our $5,000 Guaranteed game on Friday went to David Sullivan who prevailed over Brisnet’s Ed DeRosa. The runner-up finish was hardly a disappointment for DeRosa, who has been playing the races enthusiastically for most of his life but only began playing tourneys a year or two ago.
