When you’re on a roll, it’s probably wise to keep playing. That’s what Wynn Handicapping Challenge winner Nick Fazzolari did.
After an exciting seven days of live, brick-and-mortar action that saw HorseTourneys regulars Dan Fazzolari and Terence Cook take down the big money at Wynn and Saratoga, respectively, it’s time to zero back in on the computer screen this weekend. No travel required!
On Wednesday, Terence Cook built his starting bankroll up to $6,890 as he captured the first day of the Saratoga Challenge.
Things weren’t looking as good for him on Day 2.
Terence Cook hit a $700 win bet on last race winner Fairybrook ($8.80) to move ahead of Tony Zhou and collect the top prize of $17,550–plus live bankroll winnings of $6,170–in today’s first day of the Saratoga Challenge.
Nicholas Fazzolari had a nice enough Day 1 at the $460,000 Wynn Handicapping Challenge. But his final day today was superb.
Cheryl McIntyre, the 2016 NHC Tour Champion, is clearly having a pretty fair 2017 as well. On a day bereft of longshot winners, she strung a number of modestly priced winners together, and then strategically used her lone $4.00 “double bet” of the day on the winning 8-5 favorite in the nightcap at Del Mar, to squeak into first place after Day 1 of the Wynn Handicapping Challenge in Las Vegas.
With nine of ten races complete at Saratoga and Del Mar’s eight-race card yet to start, we are at the literal, if not figurative, halfway point of Day 1 of the Wynn Handicapping Challenge.
Sixty-six of HorseTourneys’ most skillful players are headed to Las Vegas to compete in the $200,000 Wynn Handicapping Challenge. We’ll be on hand with live coverage. But even out there, we’re expecting cell phones and laptops to be very prominent as another big weekend unfolds at HorseTourneys and HorsePlayers.

Though handicapping contests take place all year long these days, some players seem to do better during certain times of year. This can be because of the tracks running at the time; because of having more “quality time” available during a certain season; or just plain luck.
