2017 Arlington Handicapping Challenge Results

Congatulations to William Nefzger, winner of the 2017 Arlington Handicapping Challenge. Nefzger converted his starting bankroll of $2,000 to a final total of $10,926. He kept that amount and also won a $10,000 seat to the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge.

Matt Trommer, Nick Tammaro and Brad Anderson were 2nd , 3rd and 4th with totals of $10,612.45, $10,254 and $5,083, respectively. Thosee three all won seats to the NHC in addition to their bankroll winnings. Mike Yurczyk finished 5th with $5,047.90 and earned a Horseplayers World Series entry in addition to his mutuel tallies.

HorseTourneys qualifiers comprised 14 entrants among the field of 120. Rudolph Hardin was the highest-placing HorseTourneys representative, finishing 10th with a total of $2,773.75. There were seven HorseTourneys qualifiers who finished on the first page of the standings (top 43).

HorseTourneys Rings in July with 11-Tourney Sunday, Including New Stars & Stripes and Woodbine Mile Qualifiers

The Fourth of July is approaching on Tuesday, but we’ll be starting our fireworks early with 17 featured tourneys at HorseTourneys and HorsePlayers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday—including no fewer than 11 on Sunday, July 2. And two of those Sunday contests will represent your first chance to qualify for the July 8 Stars & Stripes Challenge at Belmont and the September 16 Woodbine Mile Handicapping Tournament.

Dates Set for $75,000, $100,000 Tourneys This Summer

Thanks in part to an outstanding response to our $75,000 Guaranteed cash game on Belmont Stakes Day, June 10, HorseTourneys will come back quickly with another $75,000 Guaranteed event on July 22—opening Saturday at both Saratoga and Del Mar—and HorseTourneys will follow that up with a $100,000 Guaranteed tourney on Travers Day, Saturday, August 26.

When Belmont ended its Saturday card after three races due to wet conditions, it did a number on our Father’s Day eve featured schedule. Fortunately our weekend schedule was fairly well backloaded to help celebrate the Dads out there. And so there were still a dozen featured tourneys this past weekend—and they showcased a dozen different winners.
