With live, brick-and-mortar tournaments on “pause” for the time being, one can’t help but wonder if the field for the 2021 NHC might be a bit smaller than usual. Last week’s tourneys here, however, certainly gave next February’s event a major boost with 14 seats flying out the door.

Newly-Enriched Saturday Cash Game Among 19 Featured Tourneys Set to Go During Upcoming Live-Format Weekend

This weekend’s featured schedule looks a lot like last weekend’s featured schedule. Not surprising, I suppose, since everything seems on a bit of a holding pattern right now. Not everything is static here at HorseTourneys, however. These weekend recaps normally cover the Friday/Saturday/Sunday featured action. However, I’ve decided to now include Wednesday in these summaries for two main reasons:

1. We now have some pretty impressive Wednesday offerings—including NHC and Spa & Surf qualifiers.

Dylan Donnelly Scores Saturday Hat Trick, then Adds Five-Figure Sunday Triumph for Good Measure; Howard Welsh Captures his Third “Big Bucks” of the Month; Two for Dew at the NHC (Weekend Recap March 25-30)

It wound up being another Friday without featured tourneys. Last week it was Laurel that unexpectedly shut down on Friday morning. This past Friday, Santa Anita had to take an involuntary “pause” just 40 minutes prior to its first race. Featured tourneys continued, though, on Saturday and Sunday—and there were even a few (for the first time) on a Wednesday.
