If you were a horse trainer, it was a good weekend to be Brad Cox. If you were a HorseTourneys player, it was a good weekend to be Michael Somich…or Steve Abelman…or Matthew Bickey.

We entered Breeders’ Cup week advertising/promoting/bragging that we’d be awarding $200,000 in Guaranteed prize money across our featured tourneys. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our players, the total wound up being much more—$305,575.

It’s the best gambling weekend of the year for horseplayers, and HorseTourneys is ready to supercharge it further with 22 featured events that include $213,000 in guaranteed cash and a slew of seats at upcoming contests. The much-anticipated weekend action begins on Friday.

After almost 20 months, it finally happened—a winner in the $8 Pick 6 Jackpot Tourney!

Since March 3rd, 2019 (!), HorseTourneys players had tried and failed to go 6-for-6. Then came Sunday…and Ezra Garrett.

It’s the calm before the (Breeders’ Cup) storm…except that things won’t be very calm. We have six featured tourneys on Friday, seven on Saturday and another 13 on Sunday. A half dozen of those are BCBC qualifiers.

There were lots of featured tourneys last week—lots of Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge qualifiers, especially (7)—and lots of winners. The excitement got under way on Wednesday.

It’s a busy weekend around here with five featured tourneys on Friday, eight on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. No fewer than six of those competitions involve the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge—now just two weeks away. The featured weekend action commences on Friday.

History has repeated itself in the $8 Pick 6 Jackpot tourney…and not in a way we appreciate.

For the second straight week, the Jackpot seemed destined to fall—only to have the Racing Gods intervene and turn an imminent-seeming victory into a narrow, painful defeat. Two weekends ago, it happened to James Snyder, and this past Saturday, John Esterbrook was the victim.

It seldom takes much prodding to get excited for Breeders’ Cup weekend (Nov. 6-7), and this year it’s one of the few big events that’s actually taking place during its customary spot on the calendar! In case you could still use some extra reasons to get enthused, though, be aware of three big cash tourneys will be hosting to help make a big weekend even bigger.

For every big score that we are fortunate enough to experience as horseplayers, it seems that there are a dozen (conservatively) that just elude our grasp. On the pain scale, James Snyder’s close call on Sunday had to be worth at least two dozen.
