Growing up in New Jersey’s Bergen County, David Wolff was not one of those people who first went to the races by tagging along with his father or an uncle. It was more like the other way around.

After a strong third-place performance on Day 1 of the two-day Flo-Cal Faceoff, David Wolff, a 57-year-old attorney from Holmdel, N.J., jumped into first place with five races remaining on Day 2 and held on from there to emerge with the $183,600 grand prize.

It’s time—finally—for the 4th annual Flo-Cal Faceoff.

After a one-week delay precipitated by the California precipitation, hundreds of North America’s best handicappers will look to follow in the footsteps of David Snyder this Saturday and Sunday. A year ago, the Mission Viejo, Calif., resident won $183,750 for capturing the 3rd-annual Faceoff, which had a total purse of $501,500.

Rainy weather in Southern California really put the “off” into the Flo-Cal Faceoff last weekend. So we still have that event ahead of us this coming weekend. The purse is up to $284,000 for this first leg of the 2023 Tourney Triple, and qualifying continues through Friday.
