Entries are currently being accepted for this Sunday’s final direct qualifier to the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Betting Championship to be held on January 26-27.
The Pegasus World Cup Betting Championship is a live-bankroll competition that requires a buy-in of $12,000 but no entry fee if played onsite at Gulfstream Park where the tournament will be based. Contestants may also opt to play at Santa Anita Park, Laurel Park, Golden Gate Fields or at Xpressbet.com. And the entry fee will be waived for off-site participants who play two entries.
The prize pool for the Pegasus World Cup Betting Challenge is estimated at $500,000 and guaranteed to be at least $300,000. The winner will receive an estimated $250,000 cash bonus plus an NHC seat and a Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge entry. In all, the top five finishers will earn NHC seats and each winner has the option of playing that NHC seat in 2018 or 2019. In addition a $10,000 cash voucher will be awarded to the leader of the competition at the close of Day 1 on Friday.
The HorseTourneys “Last Chance” Pegasus qualifier on Sunday will carry an entry fee of $480 with one entry per 30 winning a grand prize of a $12,000 live bankroll plus an additional $500 for travel expenses.
There will also be several opportunities to qualify for Sunday’s Last Chance event via low-cost feeders that cost as little as $25.
